Solaris Pictures, over the past one decade, has produced, co-produced and distributed award winning films on social issues like HIV/AIDS and gay rights. It champions for Indian queer cinema by providing opportunities for young filmmakers to produce and distribute queer films.

Solaris Pictures is one of the main Organizers of India's biggest queer film festival for the past three years: KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, which was started in 2010 and has grown bigger, bolder and queerer over the next two years 2011 and 2012.

The 4th edition of KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival is being held May 22-26, 2013 at a mainstream multiplex in Mumbai and Alliance Francaise de Bombay.
